Sollers has started producing gearboxes for new models
The Sollers Group has launched the production of six-speed manual transmissions for light commercial vehicles Sollers SF5 and SF7. In the near future, the company will also begin mass production of mechanical transmissions and electromechanical transfer cases for the updated UAZ Patriot, Pickup and Profi models. This is stated in the company's message, which was received by Izvestia on March 31.
Production is organized at the facilities of the Sollers Transmission Manufacturing enterprise on the basis of the ZMZ industrial site. New modifications of the units have become the development of basic versions of manual transmissions, the production of which started in 2024 with the support of the Industrial Development Fund. The company said that the expansion of the transmission range was made possible due to the flexibility of the production line and its rapid changeover.
The site also produces 6-speed manual transmissions for the Sollers line of light commercial vehicles and pickups, as well as for the UAZ Profi Polutorka. In addition, the company produces electromechanical transfer cases for Sollers pickups. Casting and machining of gearbox crankcases have been mastered at the Zavolzhsky site of the Sollers Group, the RosALit foundry.
It is noted that the total investment of the SOLLERS group in the development of the ZMZ industrial site since 2023, including the production of power units, transmissions and foundry projects, has exceeded 3 billion rubles.
Earlier, on March 18, it was reported that the Sollers group launched a new production of seats for Sollers ST6 and ST8 pickups at the UAZ industrial site in Ulyanovsk. Avtodom company acted as the industrial partner of the project. Russian suppliers of soft foam elements of pillows, backs and headrests, seat upholstery and heating elements are involved in the project.
