In Armenia, three citizens have been charged in the criminal case of an attempted attack on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This was announced on March 31 by the press secretary of the Investigative Committee of the Republic, Kim Avdalyan.
It is specified that the incident occurred on March 29 during a divine service. When the head of government left the church, passing through the ranks of parishioners, one of those present got into a verbal conflict with a security officer, and the other tried to hit the prime minister.
"Three people were detained in the case: 18-year-olds David and Mikael Minasyan, as well as public and political figure Gevorg Gevorgyan," Sputnik Armenia reports.
It is noted that one of the defendants is charged with hooliganism and interference in the political activities of an official. The other two are accused of organizing and facilitating these crimes.
The conflict in question occurred on March 29 during a divine service. One of the parishioners did not like the look of the Armenian Prime Minister's security guard, which he notified the person accompanying Pashinyan. At that moment, another believer attempted to hit another bodyguard. The prime minister, in turn, asked his staff to calm down and not push anyone away.
Pashinyan himself stated that he had not given special orders to detain the instigators of the conflict. He stressed that the police do not need additional instructions to do their job.
