The percentage of self-described "resellers" of car sellers has become known
Only 20% of car sellers call themselves "resellers," while more than 60% of buyers use this term to refer to a seller who regularly buys and sells cars. <url> experts, who interviewed Russians, told Izvestia about this on March 31.
According to the survey results, only a fifth (20-21%) of sellers who regularly buy and sell cars call themselves "resellers." The majority prefer to use the terms "professional salesperson" (26%), "private dealer" (11%) or "auto picker" (7-9%). There were also words like "bayer", "autobroker" and "reseller" among the descriptions of their kind of activity. Sellers engaged in the delivery of custom-made cars from abroad distinguish themselves separately in the "importer" category.
In a user survey, on the contrary, about two-thirds of the participants referred to a car seller who regularly buys and resells cars as an "overbuy" or "reseller." If the seller delivers cars to order, more than 50% of the respondents called this type of activity "distiller" and only 17% — "importer".
As experts have noted, the difference between self-perception and external evaluation is also evident in how sellers build a dialogue with a potential buyer. 46% of the surveyed professionals honestly admit that they resell cars, or introduce themselves as a private dealer or picker, while 38% still continue to claim that they own a car, despite the professional nature of the work, or come up with different legends for different cars depending on the car and the situation.
At the same time, for most users, the seller's name becomes insignificant when he conducts open and honest communication. 30% of buyers are willing to consider buying from "honest resellers" — when the seller does not hide his role in the purchase and sale chain. At the same time, only 8% of the respondents are ready to consider buying from sellers "masquerading" as private sellers.
"According to the survey results, we see the desire of market professionals to move away from the standard label of "overbought" and emphasize the specifics of their work. At the same time, a user survey shows that the word "overbought" loses its negative connotation where the seller is working on reviews and reputation, and is perceived more as a description of the profession than as a stamp," said the head of the department for working with professional Auto sellers.<url>" Maxim Manaenkov.
The day before, it was reported that following the results of the last full week of March (the 13th of the year), sales of new passenger cars in Russia showed another record since the beginning of the year. 28.6 thousand cars were sold, which is 19% more than a week earlier and 36.5% more than in the same period last year.
