- The United States announced Iran's ability to respond to a possible Israeli nuclear strike
Iran could retaliate if Israel uses nuclear weapons. This was announced on March 30 by Professor Theodor Postol of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
"If Israel launches a nuclear strike, Iran will be able to respond," he said in an interview with Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of Southeastern Norway, posted on YouTube.
According to Postol, the military operation of the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic was initially devoid of strategic meaning and only pushed Tehran to revise its nuclear doctrine.
The professor noted that Iran may now attempt to acquire nuclear weapons as soon as possible if the country's leadership considers that the state is under threat.
The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Esmail Bagai, announced on March 30 that the Iranian parliament is considering the possibility of the country's withdrawal from the NPT. According to him, Tehran has never sought to create and use nuclear weapons. He clarified that Iran has a clear position, which is to ban and destroy weapons of mass destruction.
