The prisoner told about the shelling of his colleagues by Ukrainian tanks in the LPR
Three Ukrainian tanks fired at their own colleagues in the Streltsovka area during the retreat from the Lugansk People's Republic (LNR) in 2022. This was stated on March 31 by Dmitry Semera, senior sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), assistant to the grenade launcher unit of the fire support department of the 5th border detachment of the 5th outpost, who surrendered to Russian servicemen.
"Before the start of the SVO (special military operation. — Ed.) we were thrown on the border with the settlement of Melovoe. With the beginning of our war, we started leaving — the authorities told us to leave," the prisoner said in an interview with TASS.
According to Semera, the unit received an order to withdraw immediately after the outbreak of hostilities in the area. The column was moving through Streltsovka towards Belovodsk when an obstacle appeared on the way.
"When leaving Streltsovka, three of our Ukrainian tanks were coming towards us, and they started shooting at us. Then I got a shrapnel wound in my leg," he said.
Due to the confusion and friendly fire, Semera and his colleagues had to bypass the AFU tank squad in a roundabout way for five to six hours, making their way through fields to avoid repeated shelling from their own armored vehicles.
