Turkey named the main obstacle to negotiations between the United States and Iran
The United States and Iran do not trust each other, which complicates the possibility of holding peace talks. This was announced by the Turkish government on March 31.
"The main efforts of the mediators today are focused on reducing the level of distrust between the United States and Iran, which for a long time remains a key obstacle to resuming a full—fledged negotiation process," the Turkish ministry said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
It is noted that restoring the minimum level of trust between the countries is the main task of the conflict mediators.
White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said yesterday that US President Donald Trump intends to reach a deal with Iran by April 6. According to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, contacts with Iran continue, including through third countries.
At the same time, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bagai said on the same day that Iran had not held any talks with the United States recently. He noted that the enemy is trying to use war to prevent the truth from reaching the Iranian people and the world community, and in this context is attacking journalists and the media.
