The members of the Russian synchronized swimming team returned to Russia after participating in the World Cup in Paris. The athletes shared their impressions after the competition on March 31 with Izvestia.

"The task was completed, which we set for ourselves within the team, and which the coaches gave us," said Elizaveta Minaeva, a member of the national team.

She noted that the team is satisfied with the result. At the same time, according to her, "there is something to work on."

The athletes returned to Russia with nine medals. Five of them are gold. On the first day of performances alone, the synchronized swimmers received two gold, silver and bronze medals. The highest awards were also taken in technical duets (two medals) and the free group program (one gold).

"This shows that the Russian synchronized swimming school is unsinkable. No matter how much we are banned, no matter how much we are limited, only Russian mermaids can show the true beauty of victories," said Radmir Gabdullin, Secretary General of the Russian Aquatics Federation.

Last August, Russian synchronized swimmers also returned from the World Youth Swimming Championships in Athens with five gold medals. In total, athletes from Russia won seven medals, including one silver and one bronze. Alexandra Pischikova became the winner in the free program solo, and the Russian national team also won in the group free and combined programs.
