Repair of underground passages has begun in Yalta. Work has started on Morskaya Street, the mayor of the city, Yanina Pavlenko, announced on her social networks on Monday, March 30.

According to the mayor, the contractor is currently dismantling the old pavement. Next, he will have to replace the interior wall trim with composite panels, update the ceiling and lighting.

Storm drains will also be installed to eliminate water stagnation. To improve sanitation at the facility, it is planned to organize polycarbonate canopies over the entrances.

The funds for the repair work came from the city budget, writes IA SevastopolMedia. Next, it is planned to upgrade six more underpasses.

Earlier it was reported that preparations for the fountain season, which starts on April 1, have begun in Yalta. There are plans to put 11 facilities into operation.
