More than 70 km of the federal highway R-297 Amur, passing through the territory of Transbaikalia, will be repaired in 206. The work is being carried out jointly with the federal road services, the head of the region, Alexander Osipov, said in his Telegram.

The first section from 675 to 685 km, located in the Mogochinsky district, has already been completed ahead of schedule. The road surface was updated, drainage pipes and bridges were restored, ditches were reinforced, and stops were replaced.

By the end of the year, seven more sections with a total length of 65 km will be repaired, writes ChitaMedia news agency. The work will mainly be carried out in Chita, Shilkinsky and Karymsky districts, as well as on the border of Mogoch and Amur region.

The R-297 Amur highway is one of the longest federal highways in Russia, which crosses the Trans—Baikal Territory, the Amur and Jewish Autonomous Regions and the Khabarovsk Territory. Its length, together with the approaches, is 2,243 km.

Earlier in March, it was reported that more than 250 km of regional roads will be repaired in the Trans-Baikal Territory in 2026. The work will take place at 29 sites in 17 municipalities.
