On April 4, the Scientific April festival starts in the Zaryadye Park in the capital. This was stated by Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina, noting that residents and guests of the capital are invited to programs dedicated to Geologist's Day, International DNA Day and Cosmonautics Day.

"Dozens of events of various formats will be held at the scientific and educational center "Zapovednoye Embassy". Lectures by leading scientists, exhibitions, quizzes and master classes are waiting for visitors," Sergunina said.

The lecturers will be professors from Lomonosov Moscow State University, MIPT, the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, as well as staff from the Vernadsky State Geological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Roscosmos, the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Moscow Planetarium and other scientific centers.

The festival will begin with a program dedicated to the Day of the Geologist, established 60 years ago. A "Lecture Hall without Borders" will open in the lobby of the "Reserved Embassy". The audience will be told what is hidden in the depths of the World's oceans, how the structure of the Earth is studied with the help of ultra-deep wells and where the mysterious Beringia is located.

In the laboratory, visitors will be able to act as paleontologists and learn the basics of searching for fossils. In a sandbox simulating an excavation site, young guests will be offered to find teeth of ancient sharks and other artifacts.

On Cosmonautics Day, which is celebrated on April 12, an action "Cosmically!" will be held at the "Reserved Embassy". The guests will learn about the achievements of Russian scientists, as well as reveal the secrets of high-quality photographs of galactic objects that can be taken even with a smartphone.

On International DNA Day, April 25, Muscovites and tourists will get acquainted with genetic research and the world of microorganisms. Experts will tell you how new crop varieties are created and what data is stored in the cells of the human body. Visitors will also be able to learn about the latest approaches in the fight against cancer and viral diseases and test their knowledge during the quiz.
