Dmitry Bivol, the Russian world light heavyweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and the International Boxing Federation (IBF), will enter the ring against the mandatory challenger of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), the representative of Germany, Michael Eifert. This was announced on March 30 by the Matchroom Boxing press service.

The fight for the light heavyweight world champion belt (up to 79.4 kg) will be the main event of the RCC Boxing Promotions tournament, which will be held on May 30 in Yekaterinburg at the UMMC Arena. The athlete has already confirmed the information about the fight.

"Yekaterinburg, see you soon! On May 30, I will fight at the RCC Boxing Promotions tournament, I promise to show a beautiful and spectacular duel. There are two months of intensive training ahead. I will be glad to see each of you," Bivol said in a video message on Instagram (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

The Russian Boxing Federation joined World Boxing on March 19. Earlier, the Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation, Alexander Besputin, confirmed that the organization aspires to membership in World Boxing to ensure the participation of athletes in the Olympic qualifying rounds.
