A California federal court has ordered the release from custody of Russian Kristina, who was detained in January after an incident near the Camp Pendleton military base. This became known on March 30 from court documents that were at the disposal of RIA Novosti.

"The court grants the petition <...> and orders the defendants to immediately release the applicant from custody," the decision says.

Earlier it was reported that two Russian citizens Kristina and Natalia, who had been in the migration center for almost three months, filed complaints with the federal court challenging their detention.

It is noted that the court recognized the violation by the US authorities of the rights of the Russian woman, because they did not explain the reasons for the cancellation of the previous conditions of release and did not allow to challenge the detention. It is specified that the parties must confirm the execution of the decision by April 1.

It is added that the complaint of the second Russian Natalia is still under consideration by the court.

The detention of the Russians for three months became known on March 29. The mother of one of the girls reported about the detention on January 26. She said that the Russians visited the US Marine Corps military base while searching for McDonald's. The Russian Embassy in the United States confirmed the authenticity of the incident the next day.

Representative of the Immigration and Customs Control Service (ICE) On March 5, the United States announced that two Russian women detained on suspicion of entering a US military base would be held in custody until the end of the proceedings. It is noted that they entered the country illegally.
