The widows of military personnel, Interior Ministry employees who died in combat, and volunteers will be given the right to budget income under the quota. This was announced on March 30 by the government commission on legislative activity.
"The amendments propose to grant the right to budget admission to bachelor's and specialist's degree programs within a separate quota to widows (widowers) of certain categories of citizens: participants in hostilities, military personnel, employees of law enforcement agencies, for example, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Penitentiary Service, who performed combat missions, volunteers who participated in a special military operation, military personnel of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, who participation in military operations since May 11, 2014," said Igor Cherepanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Russian Bar Association.
The condition for receiving such a benefit is non-entry into a new marriage after the death of a spouse.
