Family psychologist Sergey Lang told how to understand that a child needs the help of a specialist.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Monday, March 30, Lang noted that it is educational institutions that should act as a kind of filter and identify the problem long before the family situation turns into a crisis. In his opinion, for this it is necessary to strengthen the work of school psychologists: they should monitor the behavioral patterns of children, conduct preventive programs and identify "weak links" in the team.

He noted that group classes help to identify fears, complexes and internal clamps in a child, and a good specialist is able to quickly notice this. At the same time, as Lang added, today the role of a school psychologist often remains formal, and parents often ignore alarm signals. As an example, he cited situations when a child closes up, communicates little and spends a lot of time on the Internet — according to him, this is already a reason to seek help from a specialist.

Earlier, Children's Ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova proposed to create a single window in the regions to receive signals about family problems in order to help avoid catastrophic situations in the family and society.
