The European Union has extended sanctions against Iran for a year.
The European Union (EU) has extended restrictive measures against Iran due to alleged human rights violations until April 13, 2027. This was announced by the EU Council on March 30.
"These measures include a travel ban and asset freeze, as well as a ban on the export to Iran of equipment that could be used for internal repression and telecommunications monitoring equipment," the EU website says.
In total, 262 individuals and 53 organizations were included in the list of those subject to sanctions. At the same time, "one deceased person", as indicated in the message, decided not to include. In addition, EU citizens and companies are prohibited from providing funds to all those included in this list.
The British newspaper The Guardian wrote on March 16 that Europe's participation in the war against Iran could lead to serious consequences and weaken the political subjectivity of the European Union. Despite the fact that European leaders actually recognize violations of international law by the United States and Israel against Iran, they avoid directly condemning these actions, the newspaper notes.
