Pomerania increased exports to India by a third
There are more emergency shelters in the Arkhangelsk Region than in many other regions of Russia. Vladimir Putin said this on March 30 at a meeting with the governor of the region, Alexander Tsybulsky. The President instructed to deal with the resettlement of people from dilapidated houses. On the same day, Vladimir Putin phoned Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic: the leaders discussed the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as cooperation in the energy sector.
What was discussed at the meeting
Exports remain one of the most important revenue items for the budget of the Arkhangelsk region. Due to the sanctions, the region has significantly changed the geography of supplies: now 86% goes to friendly markets — China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkey and India (exports increased by almost a third in the latter).
In total, by the end of 2025, the volume of non-primary non-energy exports increased by 10%. Sales of services have also grown by the same amount: transport, telecommunications and computer technology have become the main areas. The gross regional product grew to 892 billion rubles.
The local authorities need to pay attention to the construction sector, because housing commissioning for Arkhangelsk is insufficient, the head of state said. According to the president, there is a dilapidated fund in the region "more than in many other regions." There are still many people who are waiting to be relocated from emergency housing. Alexander Tsybulsky called this issue the number one task for the authorities — 115 houses have already been resettled in five years, more than 28 thousand people have received new housing. "The main thing is to continue with emergency housing. Of course, we need to get people out of their barracks," Vladimir Putin said.
The creation of an orthopedic center is nearing completion in the Arkhangelsk region, the governor said. Military personnel who return from their home zone will be rehabilitated here. The production of harvester heads (these are specialized modules that are installed on logging equipment) and the first high-performance lumber sorting line were also launched in Pomorie. Neither in recent years, nor in Soviet times, such a thing was done — it was always imported equipment, the head of the region emphasized.
On the same day, Vladimir Putin called Alexander Vucic. The leaders discussed the situation around Ukraine and the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. Separately, the Serbian president thanked the Russian president for continuing stable gas supplies. Serbia extended them for three months. For Belgrade, the same price will remain — $ 320.
