The new Russian brand Jeland, under which cars will be produced at the former GM plant in St. Petersburg, showed its first crossover. The car was demonstrated to the governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, the footage was published by the city administration. Preparation for the production of Jeland has entered the final stage, the press service of the administration reported.

Previously, images of Jeland crossovers have not been officially published. According to the Chinese Cars portal, the car from these photos in the certification documents is designated as Jeland VT8 and is based on the Chinese Jaecoo model.

The market debut of the Jaecoo J8 in Russia took place in 2024. The length of the car is 4820 mm with a wheelbase of 2820 mm. A two-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 249 hp (385 Nm) is installed under the hood, it works with a 7-speed robotic transmission with a double "wet" clutch, the drive is exceptionally full. In the passenger compartment, there is a panel of two 12.3-inch monitors in front of the driver.

It is assumed that other Jeland models that will be on the assembly line in Russia will be based on the Jaecoo J7 and J6 crossovers.

The first car body of the new Russian brand Jeland has been welded at the automobile plant of the AGR holding in St. Petersburg Shushary (a former General Motors, GM enterprise), which has undergone a complete technical re-equipment. Representatives of the AGR clarified on March 20 that the welding workshop at the plant had actually been rebuilt.
