Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed serious concern about a possible ground military operation in Iran on March 30, saying it would provoke a profound energy crisis.

According to the Serbian leader, the world has already faced a sharp rise in energy prices. He cited data that the cost of a barrel of oil exceeded the $115 mark.

Vucic stressed that in the event of an escalation of the conflict, the economy of no state will be able to withstand such a burden.

"We will have to stop everything in order to survive," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

He also added that the current situation is leading the world, and especially Europe, to a "precipice."

On March 21, Vucic stated the difficulty of preventing a third World War. According to him, the struggle for oil, gas, minerals, rare metals and other resources began a long time ago.

Chairman of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on March 29 that US representatives, who publicly send signals to Iran with an alleged invitation to negotiations on a settlement, are in fact secretly planning a ground operation in the Islamic Republic.
