Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad Reza Sheibani, declared persona non grata by the Lebanese Foreign Ministry, will continue to fulfill his duties. This was announced on March 30 by the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Bagai.
"We are following the reports about our post. Our embassy is open, and our ambassador continues his work in Beirut and remains in place," Iran International quoted the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman as saying.
The Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported on Sunday, March 29, that Sheibani did not leave Lebanon, as he was ordered by the agency, and intends to remain in Beirut according to the wishes of the speaker of the country's parliament and the Shiite organization Hezbollah.
On March 25, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov discussed the military operation of the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic at a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali.
