The media reported on Madrid's agreement to transfer five Patriot missiles to Kiev.
The Spanish government has decided to transfer five Patriot missiles to Ukraine. This was reported on March 30 by the newspaper El Pais, citing sources in the Cabinet of Ministers of the kingdom.
"Spain agreed to supply Ukraine with Patriot missiles under pressure from NATO and the European Union, demanding that European countries with this American system supply Kiev," the article says.
The authors of the article noted that the transfer of the missile systems occurred after the Spanish Ministry of Defense refused to transfer to Ukraine a battery deployed since 2015 on the border between Turkey and Syria. According to the publication, we are talking about PAC-2 missiles, which are in service with the Spanish army anti-aircraft artillery regiment based in Marines.
The Washington Post reported on March 26 that the US Department of War is considering the possibility of redirecting arms supplies destined for Ukraine to the Middle East. The publication stressed that it is not yet clear whether American supplies will be temporarily suspended or whether we are talking about a complete cessation of aid.
Political analyst Bohdan Bezpalko told Izvestia on March 12 that the military operation launched by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran could negatively affect the supply of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), whose ranks already have a need for ammunition for anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM). In addition, if the funds do not flow to Kiev, Ukraine, as the expert suggested, "will crumble like a mechanism."
