The United States may try to take control of the island of Kharq in Iran, through which a significant proportion of Iranian oil is exported. This was announced on March 30 by the head of the White House, Donald Trump.

"Maybe we'll take Kharg Island, maybe not. We have a lot of options," Trump said in an interview with the Financial Times (FT) newspaper.
