NATO warned about the failure of a possible US ground operation in Iran
The US ground operation in Iran, if it begins, will end in failure. This was announced on March 29 by Florence Gaub, head of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) Research Center.
In an interview with Handelsblatt, the expert stressed that the potential of missile and bomb attacks on military targets is almost exhausted. According to her, the American side is already close to the moment when legitimate targets for attacks will end.
"And then what should be destroyed in order to complete the tasks? Then you automatically start thinking about civilian goals — and at that moment the situation becomes really terrible. There are already voices, especially in Israel, calling for: let's do this," said Gaub.
The analyst noted that the transition to attacks on civilian infrastructure will make military operations even less popular among the population, primarily in the United States, where the war is already frowned upon.
Chairman of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on March 29 that US representatives, who publicly send signals to Iran with an alleged invitation to negotiations on a settlement, are in fact secretly planning a ground operation in the Islamic Republic.
On the same day, Ebrahim Zolfagari, a representative of the central headquarters of the Khatam al-Anbiya military command, announced the readiness of the Iranian armed forces to launch a US ground operation. He stressed that the Iranian Armed Forces are ready for decisive action in the event of threats from the United States. Zolfagari later added that the residences of military leaders and officials of countries participating in the US and Israeli military operations against Iran are legitimate targets of the republic's Armed Forces.
