On March 29, Mircea Lucescu, coach of the Romanian national football team and former head coach of Zenit St. Petersburg football club, spoke about his condition after an emergency hospitalization.

"I feel good now. I am completely healthy, but I am still undergoing some examinations," Gazeta Sporturilor quoted him as saying.

On the same day, the press service of the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) announced Lucescu's emergency hospitalization. It was clarified that the coach lost consciousness during a technical meeting before training and the subsequent match against the Slovak national team.
