The British Figure Skating Federation has announced its intention to challenge the refereeing of the 2026 World Championships in the Czech Republic. This is evidenced by the official statement published on the federation's website on March 29.

"We are officially challenging this decision and will express our concerns to the International Skating Union. We also call for a full and independent review of the judging process to ensure accountability and fairness for all athletes," the publication says.

The organization disagreed with the decision of the arbitrators, who deducted points from British figure skater Laila Fear and her ice dancing partner Lewis Gibson. As a result of the revision of the scores, the duo dropped to fourth place in the final protocol, losing the bronze medals to American athletes Emily Zingas and Vadim Kolesnik.

American Ilya Malinin became a three-time world figure skating champion on March 28. The competition was held in Prague. Malinin scored 329.40 points. Japan's Yuma Kagiyama won silver with 306.67 points, while his compatriot Shun Sato took bronze (288.54).

On March 26, the American figure skater became the best in the short program at the World Championships. Then the Frenchman Adam Xiao Him Fa took the second place, and the Estonian Alexander Selevko took the third.
