Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a video message at the gala evening for the 90th anniversary of Stanislav Govorukhin on March 29, noted not only his directorial talent, but also his patriotism and human qualities.

"Besides his talent as a director, Stanislav Sergeevich is a true patriot of our Motherland. He was an absolutely selfless man and devoted to Russia. During our personal contacts with him, this became absolutely obvious to me," Putin said in a video message presented during the gala evening.

The Head of State noted that he carefully observed what Govorukhin said and did, making "notes in his mind." The President admitted that many of the things the director had noticed were useful to him in his life, and thanked him once again.

On the same day, Putin said that if Govorukhin had become president of Russia, it would have been in safe hands. He noted such qualities of Govorukhin as decency, responsibility, character and love for the fatherland. Despite his lack of administrative experience, according to Putin, these traits could make the director a worthy leader of Russia.

In a fragment of the film "People's Deputy. Govorukhin is 90 years old," dedicated to the director who died in 2018, Putin said that the People's Artist of Russia provided him with tangible support during the 2012 elections. The Head of State shared that the help of such an authoritative person meant a lot to him.
