Deripaska appreciated the comparison of the consequences of the escalation in the Middle East with COVID-19

The consequences of the escalation observed in the Middle East may be worse for the world community than those it faced after the coronavirus pandemic. This was announced on March 29 by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Volnoe Delo Foundation, businessman Oleg Deripaska.

"I think [the consequences of the conflict in the Middle East will be] worse," he said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin, a journalist at the Vesti news agency.

The entrepreneur clarified that the conflict in question will not be resolved in the coming months, so countries should prepare to expand the framework into which they have been driven.

"We need to <...> ensure an acceptable rate of economic growth," he concluded.

Price growth has slowed down, and there is a chance that the conflict will slow it down even more noticeably.
