The funeral of Al Mayadeen journalist Fatima Ftouni and her brother, photojournalist Mohammed, who died in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon, took place in Beirut on March 29.

Many people came to say goodbye to the media workers. Footage from the ceremony shows people carrying the bodies of the dead in their arms and praying.

Fatima Ftouni is temporarily buried in the Lebanese capital. At the end of the conflict, she is scheduled to be reburied in her hometown of Taybe in southern Lebanon.

Fatima and Mohammed Ftouni, as well as Al-Manar reporter Ali Hassan Shahaib, were killed in an Israeli military strike a day earlier. The car used by the media staff turned out to be almost completely destroyed.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the murder and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and all representatives of the journalistic and media community. Roni Alpha, director of the Middle East information bureau of Al Mayadeen, also called the deceased journalist Fatima Ftouni, who collaborated with Izvestia, a heroine. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the attack on the journalists' car a grave crime and noted that they would insist on the need to investigate this murder and bring all those responsible to justice.
