Russians should change jobs or find additional income if they are unable to save money for long-term savings. This was announced on March 29 by Alexander Abramov, head of the RANEPA Laboratory for the Analysis of Institutions and Financial Markets.

"Surveys show that approximately 60% of Russians, as well as residents of many other countries, are unable to save money, so to speak, not for a stash, but for some long-term savings. If you look at it through the eyes of a person who makes savings, then you need to change jobs or another source of income," Abramov shared in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

According to the economist, this solution is more optimal than trying to spend less. He also noted that to help with savings, there are corporate pension plans in which part of the salary money is transferred to a savings account.

On the same day, Anastasia Gorelkina, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of HC Siberian Business Union, said that many periods of life in Russia, including military service or caring for loved ones, are already affecting future retirement, even if insurance premiums were not paid at that time. According to her, the length of service includes the so-called non-insurance periods, the list of which is fixed in art. 12 "On insurance pensions".
