Six people were killed in an Israeli strike on a checkpoint in Gaza
The Israeli army carried out airstrikes on two police checkpoints in the Gaza Strip, killing six people. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on March 29.
"Israeli planes attacked two police checkpoints in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, killing three policemen and three civilians, including a girl, and injuring four others," the report said.
According to local health authorities, more than 680 Palestinians have died in the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire agreement came into force.
A day earlier, an Israeli military strike in Lebanon killed journalist Fatima Ftouni, her brother, photojournalist Mohammed Ftouni, and Al—Manar reporter Ali Hassan Shahaib. The car used by the media staff turned out to be almost completely destroyed.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the murder and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and all representatives of the journalistic and media community. Roni Alpha, director of the Middle East information bureau of Al Mayadeen, also called the deceased journalist Fatima Ftouni, who collaborated with Izvestia, a heroine. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the attack on the journalists' car a grave crime and noted that they would insist on the need to investigate this murder and bring all those responsible to justice.
