Sobyanin appreciated the popularity of Moscow museums and exhibitions
Moscow is one of the largest megacities in the world in terms of the number of museums and exhibition halls, said Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. He noted that about 19 million people visited the capital's exhibitions and museums last year, and the number of visitors increased by almost a third over the year.
Russian Russian Museum's key projects include the exhibitions "The Image of Moscow in Russian Art from the Collection of the State Russian Museum" in Pavilion No. 1 "Tsentralny" at VDNH, as well as "India. The Fabric of Time" at the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve.
"The country's first educational Biocluster was opened at VDNKH, combining the achievements of modern biology, advanced educational methods and projects in the field of contemporary art," Sobyanin wrote on his channel in the IACH.
Last year, the restoration of the Egyptian Pavilion of the Ostankino Palace was completed, where the original exhibition "Visiting Count Sheremetev" was opened. In addition, the development of popular urban projects and actions continued, including "Moscow Museum Week", "Museums for Children", "School Day at the Museum" and "Night at the Museum".
New sites of the Biocluster are planned to be opened this year: Pavilion No. 17 "Dinosaur World", Pavilion No. 312 "Museum of Life", greenhouse laboratories, as well as pavilion No. 29 "Floratopia" after the re-exhibition. It is also planned to involve Russian and foreign partners in joint projects, including the international exhibition "Terracotta Warriors: Legacy of the First Emperor" at the State Historical Museum, Sobyanin said.
Earlier in March, Sergei Sobyanin announced that over the past 15 years, the capital's restorers had restored about 2.5 thousand architectural monuments. According to the mayor, about 700 more facilities are planned to be restored in Moscow by 2030, of which about 500 are already in operation.
