Ukraine has not fulfilled more than 10 conditions necessary for joining the European Union (EU), which has caused disappointment among European countries. This was reported on March 28 by the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung (BZ), citing independent experts.

Earlier, a number of European politicians, including the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, announced Kiev's significant progress towards EU membership. However, independent think tanks give a more restrained assessment.

"Ukraine, two—thirds of whose national budget is subsidized by Western taxpayers, failed to meet "more than ten" EU requirements for the rapprochement process last year," the material says.

According to the newspaper, failure to comply with key requirements, in particular in the field of combating corruption, negatively affects the perception of Kiev in Europe.
