On March 29, Anna Paulina Luna, a member of the US Congress, criticized the positions of colleagues who condemned her contact with State Duma deputies in Washington.

"It seems that there are some very angry congressmen with low IQs in Congress who apparently believe that the State Department did not approve the trip for peace talks on Russia. These are the same people who were useless and achieved nothing, especially when it came to real peace negotiations," she wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The congresswoman added that the current White House administration is working with her and other members of Congress on a peace agreement. According to her, criticism from opponents does not matter, because they are "on the losing side of history."

On March 26, Vyacheslav Nikonov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, announced the successful completion of the first meeting with congressmen in Washington. According to him, it went better than expected. Russian Ambassador to the United States Alexander Darchiev also called the negotiations of the Russian parliamentary delegation with members of Congress successful.

Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 29 that the Kremlin hoped that new parliamentary contacts with the American side would follow.
