World number one Sobolenko wins the WTA tournament in Miami

On March 29, Belarusian world number one Arina Sobolenko beat American Corey Gauff in the final of the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami (USA).

The final match ended with the victory of 27-year-old Sobolenko over the fourth racket of the world with a score of 6:2, 4:6, 6:3. The tennis players spent 2 hours and 9 minutes on the court.

The prize fund of the competition in the current season exceeded $9.4 million.

For the Belarusian athlete, this victory was the second in a row at the "thousandth" in Miami. In total, Sobolenko now has 24 titles on the Women's Tennis Association tour.

Russian Daniil Medvedev failed to reach the fourth round of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Masters tournament in Miami on March 23. In the third round match, the athlete lost to Argentine Francisco Cherundolo with a score of 0:6, 6:4, 5:7.
