The bonus-malus coefficient, which affects the cost of the CTP policy, will be automatically recalculated for Russian drivers from April 1. This was announced on March 29 by Evgeny Ufimtsev, President of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers.

"The coefficient will increase if during the previous period, which begins on April 1 of each year and lasts until March 31 of the following year, information about the availability of insurance payments gets into the automated insurance system: the more insurance payments, the higher this coefficient," he noted.

According to Ufimtsev, the recalculation is done automatically. At the same time, for drivers who did not allow an accident, the cost of the policy will decrease. The minimum CBM value is 0.46 and is assigned in case of prolonged absence of insurance claims.

The maximum coefficient for drivers with accidents can reach 3.92. For beginners, the value of 1.17 is set at the first registration of CTP. If several drivers are included in the policy, the highest coefficient of all specified is applied.
