Russian champion ASA Vagaev signed a contract with the UFC

Russian mixed martial arts fighter, champion of the Absolute Akhmat Championship (ACA) welterweight Abubakar Vagaev announced his transfer to the UFC on March 28.

"Now that I have a contract with the UFC, I can announce that I am joining the UFC. My time in the ACA League has come to an end. I am resigning my championship powers," says a post on Instagram (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

Vagaev added that during his career in the ACA he had about 30 fights, won the championship belt three times and called this period a significant part of his sporting career. The fighter also thanked the organization for their understanding and support, stressing that he himself always went towards the league.
