A protracted conflict in the Middle East will provoke a major crisis in the fertilizer market. This was reported on March 28 by The Telegraph newspaper, citing experts.
"If the war continues for another month or more, it will be a really terrible crisis [in the global fertilizer production market], the likes of which none of us have ever seen before," Abdolrez Abbasian, former chief economist of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), said in a statement.
