A criminal case has been opened in Tosno under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence to two or more persons") after the deaths of three people as a result of a fire. This was reported on March 28 in the press service of the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) for the region.

"According to the investigation, on March 27, 2026, after extinguishing a fire in a house in the Polyany farming co-op in the Tosnensky district of the Leningrad region, the bodies of three citizens with signs of thermal exposure were found," a message on the MAX messenger said.

It is specified that after receiving information about the incident, investigators, police officers and units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were sent to the scene.

According to the agency, forensic medical and fire-technical examinations have been appointed as part of the investigation. The committee's employees carry out the necessary checks to clarify the circumstances, causes and conditions of the incident. The identities of the victims are being established.

On March 25, the press service of the SU IC of Russia for the Astrakhan region reported that three people died as a result of a fire in an apartment building in Astrakhan. It is specified that the fire occurred in one of the residential buildings in the Kirovsky district of the city.
