Lebanese residents paid tribute to the journalists killed in the IDF strike
Lebanese residents paid tribute to the employees of Al Manar and Al Mayadeen TV channels who died as a result of the Israeli strike. The relevant footage is published by Izvestia on March 28.
Residents of the city and representatives of the media took part in the march. The protesters expressed outrage at Israel's actions, noting that this is not the first time journalists have been targeted.
Journalists Fatima Ftouni, her photojournalist brother Mohammed Ftouni, and Al—Manar reporter Ali Hassan Shahaib were killed on March 28 in an attack by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in southern Lebanon. Ftouni and Shuaib, just a couple of hours before their deaths, had Telegram channels where they posted small messages about what was happening in Lebanon. The car used by the media staff turned out to be almost completely destroyed.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the murder and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and all representatives of the journalistic and media community. Roni Alpha, director of the Middle East information bureau of Al Mayadeen, also called the deceased journalist Fatima Ftouni, who collaborated with Izvestia, a heroine.
