The claim of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation on the conversion of the property of Evgeny Shulepov, the former mayor of Vologda, who died in 2025, was satisfied. This was announced on Saturday, March 28, by the joint press service of the Vologda Region courts.

"After examining the case materials, the court decided to convert all the real estate objects, Lexus, BMW vehicles, small craft and funds stated in the statement of claim into state income," the press service said in a statement on the VKontakte social network.

It is noted that the list of seized assets includes 47 real estate objects, some of which are located in Moscow, 72 million rubles held in bank accounts, cash in excess of $16.4 thousand, as well as € 20 thousand.

Shulepov, who was suspected of abuse of authority and bribery back in May last year, died in hospital on September 17, 2025. He ended up there to receive treatment for a chronic illness. The ex-mayor of Vologda was charged with receiving 11.3 million rubles in bribes. It was emphasized that the former head of the city could have been involved in a criminal case in accordance with paragraphs "b" of Part 5, Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving large and especially large bribes").
