- The Russian Embassy expressed its condolences to the families of the journalists killed in Lebanon.
On March 28, the Russian Embassy in Lebanon expressed its condolences to the families and friends of the journalists who died after the Israeli strike in the south of the country.
"Pointing weapons at media personnel in conflict zones is unacceptable — it is a violation of international law. But, as we can see, such incidents are becoming systemic, which deserves to be strongly condemned," the diplomatic mission said in a Telegram channel.
The journalists were killed on March 28 in an attack by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in southern Lebanon, a few hours before which they were still actively conducting their Telegram channels.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the murder and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and all representatives of the journalistic and media community. Roni Alpha, director of the Middle East information bureau of Al Mayadeen, also called the deceased journalist Fatima Ftouni, who collaborated with Izvestia, a heroine.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
