The humpback whale, which was rescued by the German services for about four days in the Baltic Sea, apparently got stuck in shallow water again. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on March 28.

"The humpback whale from Timmendorf Beach has apparently run aground again on a sandbank in Wismar Bay. Thus, the humpback whale has once again significantly deviated from the route it must take to get to the North Sea. Wismar Bay is located east of Boltenhagen, where the animal was last seen late on Friday evening," the article says.

As Bild pointed out, the police and the animal welfare service have already moved to the site. The Coast Guard patrols the waters of the bay in search of other individuals.

Last time, on March 23, the German special services deployed two excavators to rescue the whale. A chute was dug next to the whale, thanks to which he was able to sail out to sea on March 27.

Science magazine reported on March 26 that sperm whales help each other during childbirth. Scientists studying the social behavior of whales have said that animals can help each other during childbirth. So they watched for an hour as a group of whales took turns lifting the newborn to the surface so that he could breathe in the air.
