Skier Stepanova won the 3 km race in the final of the Cup of Russia

Olympic champion, skier Veronika Stepanova won the 3 km freestyle race in the final of the Cup of Russia. The competition was held on March 28 in Apatity, Murmansk region.

The skier covered the distance in 7 minutes and 27.6 seconds. The second place was shared by Ekaterina Nikitina and Daria Kaneva. Elizaveta Pantrina rounded out the top four.

Daria Nepryaeva, a participant in the 2026 Olympic Games, showed the sixth result, 8.1 seconds behind the winner, Sport-Express added.

Korostelev and Nepryaeva showed that Russians are able to compete for high World Cup places, despite a long ban.

Earlier in the day, three-time Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov won the 3 km freestyle ski race in the final of the Cup of Russia. The athlete covered the distance in 6 minutes and 24.5 seconds. The second place was taken by Egor Mitroshin, who was eight seconds behind.
