Al Mayadeen TV correspondent Fatima Ftouni and her colleague Ali Shuaib, who worked for Al-Manar, were killed in a strike by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in southern Lebanon. This was reported to Izvestia on March 28 in Al Mayadeen.

A few hours ago, at 10:21 a.m. (11:21 a.m. Moscow time), Ftuni posted a short message on her Telegram channel about an "enemy raid" seen near the towns of Bint Jubail and Kunin. On the same day, she reported that five people died when an ambulance belonging to the Islamic mission was shelled.

Shuaib was also in touch with his subscribers on the Telegram channel at 12:04 (13:04 Moscow time). He made several reposts and wrote a couple of short messages.

This is not the first time that journalists covering events in southern Lebanon have come under fire from the IDF. So, on March 23, the crew of the Al Mayadeen TV channel was already under attack. Then none of the employees were injured. A few days earlier, RT journalists, correspondent Steve Sweeney and his cameraman, also came under fire. It was noted that the Israeli military fired a rocket directly at the car of media workers when they were crossing a bridge in the area of the military base.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the strike in Lebanon was not accidental. According to her, the missile did not hit an important strategic object, but precisely in the place where the filming of the report was carried out. The Russian Foreign Ministry has protested to Israeli Ambassador to Moscow Oded Yosef in connection with the attack on journalists.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
