A man opened fire and set off an explosion on Architectorskaya Street in Odessa, southern Ukraine. This was announced on Saturday, March 28, by the press service of the local police.
"The police detained an armed man in Odessa. <...> According to preliminary information, he was carrying a grenade and a firearm. He fired several shots upwards, and an explosion also occurred," the Telegram channel said.
According to the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, there is currently no information about the victims of the incident. The area is cordoned off and locals are advised not to approach it. Representatives of special forces units are involved.
The day before, the main police department in the Zhytomyr region announced the detention of two militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), who in early January voluntarily left the unit with weapons and committed a double murder. It was emphasized that the attackers were involved in the deaths of one man and another deserter, whose bodies were found by authorized persons on a tip from criminals.
