A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Zapad group of troops liberated the settlement of Brusovka in the DPR. As a result of the actions of Russian servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 160 militants, an M113 armored personnel carrier, three armored combat vehicles, 21 vehicles, an artillery piece and three ammunition depots.

In addition, the Southern group of Troops occupied more advantageous lines and positions, defeated Ukrainian armed formations in the areas of the settlements of Izhevsk, Kurtovka, Alekseevo-Druzhkovka, Konstantinovka, Krivaya Luka, Nikolaevka, Artyoma and Ilyinovka of the DPR. The Ukrainian army has lost up to 130 fighters in this area.

"The units of the Center group of forces have improved their position along the front line. They defeated the manpower and equipment of two mechanized assault brigades, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and two National Guard brigades in the areas of settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Dnipropetrovsk region. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to over 335 servicemen," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, has defeated Ukrainian transport infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, long-range drone assembly and launch sites, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 148 districts.

In turn, air defense systems shot down eight guided aerial bombs, four Flamingo long-range cruise missiles and 385 aircraft-type drones. The forces of the Black Sea Fleet eliminated a crewless boat and an autonomous underwater vehicle of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 128,748 UAVs, 652 anti-aircraft missile systems, 28,544 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,694 multiple rocket launchers, 34,134 field artillery and mortars, 58,017 pieces of special vehicles.
