Another armed confrontation between Pakistan and Afghanistan cannot be linked to the crisis in the Middle East. This was announced on March 28 by the special representative of the Russian President for Afghanistan, Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Zamir Kabulov.

"Pakistan's conflict with Afghanistan is local in nature. I don't see a direct relationship with the events in the Middle East," Kabulov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He noted that Russia calls on Pakistan and Afghanistan to jointly resolve the problem of the presence of terrorist groups on Afghan territory. According to him, Moscow is ready to mediate a settlement between the two countries.

Member of the Board of the Russian Association of Political Science, Project Manager of the Expert Institute for Social Research (EIS) Vladimir Shapovalov said on March 24 that the conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan in Afghanistan will continue in an active phase for at least several weeks.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also said on March 18 that Russia was deeply concerned about the confrontation between Pakistan and Afghanistan and again called for resolving differences through diplomacy. According to her, the armed conflict is a "dead-end course."
