The United States has lost interest in a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine due to the large-scale escalation in the Persian Gulf region. This was announced on March 27 by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

"For this (settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. Countries with levers of influence and instruments should be involved in this process. These are America, Europe and others. The United States intervened, but has now lost interest. Europe may not have much desire for a cease—fire either," Fidan said on the A Haber TV channel.

He stressed that the energy importance of the Middle East has become a key factor in shifting Western priorities.

Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations (UN) Vasily Nebenzia said on March 23 that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky was shocked by the shift in the attention of the world community from his country to the Middle East. According to him, now Kiev is trying with all its might to regain the lost attention.

The British newspaper Daily Express reported on March 21 that Russia would be in an advantageous position if the US military operation against Iran provoked an arms shortage that would affect Ukraine.
