The issue of restoring the full-fledged work of the diplomatic mission was raised during negotiations with the State Duma delegation in Washington. This was announced on March 27 by Svetlana Zhurova, first deputy chairman of the Duma Committee on International Affairs.

"The issue of restoring the full-fledged work of diplomatic missions was raised: both the Russian embassy in the United States and the American embassy in Moscow. Now they are actually working in a limited mode," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the MP, the need for symmetrical restoration was discussed, including diplomatic property and the number of employees. The delegation also discussed humanitarian, sports, educational projects and global security issues.

Zhurova added that many congressmen advocate the creation of a contact group for relations with Russia in Congress and a return visit to the Russian Federation.

There are such parties: deputies of four key factions of the State Duma will go to the United States.

At the first meeting, it is planned to discuss the issue of lifting sanctions against parliamentarians and congressmen.

Earlier in the day, meetings between representatives of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and their American counterparts began on the second day of negotiations.

The first round of negotiations between the parties began a day earlier. Boris Chernyshov, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma, speaking about the goals of the delegation, consisting of representatives of various Russian parties, said that he and his colleagues would try to protect the interests of their country and convey "its truth."

Vyacheslav Nikonov, one of Russia's representatives, who led a group of his colleagues, called the dialogue with the United States beyond all expectations. The same opinion was shared by the Russian Ambassador to Washington, Alexander Darchiev, who called the contacts successful.
