The parliamentarian also drew attention to the possible consequences for the real estate market if the government strengthens regulation of short-term rental housing.

"The situation here is two-sided. On the one hand, limiting the daily rent may bring some apartments back to the long-term rental market and stabilize prices. On the other hand, excessive pressure may lead to owners compensating for costs by raising rental rates," the source warned.
