The shortage of fuel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will allow the Russian army to advance in the zone of a special military operation (SVO) in the direction of its chosen targets. This opinion was expressed by military expert, retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk on Friday, March 27.

Earlier, the Politico newspaper wrote that the Ukrainian Armed Forces complained of a shortage of fuel due to the consequences of the US and Israeli military operation against Iran, IA Regnum reports.

"Yes, [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky himself had a snack with Slovakia and Hungary, they stopped supplying him with diesel fuel. There is a big shortage, but at the same time Ukraine still has some volumes of its own personal fuel, which it produces," Matviychuk said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

He expressed confidence that the shortage would affect the use of military equipment, especially self-propelled, which uses fuel.

"I think this will allow our troops, using this factor, to move towards their chosen targets — I mean Kramatorsk, Slavyansk, Sumy, Kupyansk — and fulfill their tasks," he concluded.

Defense Express weapons expert Ivan Kirichevsky reported on March 17 that Ukraine, due to the conflict in the Middle East, may face an acute shortage of PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot air defense system in the next 1-3 months. The situation around Iran is exacerbating the global shortage of air defense systems and missiles, as demand significantly exceeds production.
